If you’ve been feeling tired, anxious, indecisive, or stuck it’s a sign that it’s time to detox your mind. Re-energize your mind and start the process of detoxing for better mental clarity and health. Below are 7 ways you can detox your mind. Try one or all of the tips below. Here’s to a happy and healthy mind.

1.     Become Selective Who You Follow Online

If you’re going to spend time online, make it a productive and positive experience. Follow pages that add value to your life, and regularly clean out who you’re following.  Make sure that every account you subscribe to is actively adding something to help make your life better. Both positive and negative energy can be transferred online, so be mindful about what you’re consuming.

2.     Consciously Think About Who You Socialize With

Being mindful about who you share your time with, connect with, and even vent to can have a huge impact on your mental health. Reflect on your relationships, and identify those that allow you to be your authentic self, are calming, and supportive. If you realize there is someone who does not evoke these emotions within you, then it’s an indication you need to limit your interaction.

3.     Meditate

The average human mind has at least 50,000 thoughts every day, which means you have a new thought about every 1.2 seconds. It’s easy for the mind to become consumed with many random thoughts. Meditation provides a way to detox your mind and it can help you process your thoughts. Meditation is an effective way to help calm the mind. When you practice meditation, it allows you to detach from your thoughts, and simply focus on being in the present moment.

4.     Write It Down – Journal

One of the best ways to detox your mind is by writing out what’s on your mind. Grab a pen and a journal, and set aside some time to do a brain dump. Just free form write, without worrying about grammar or spelling, and write out all of the things you want to complain about, or challenges you are struggling with. Write down anything that’s been bugging you. The people that get under your skin, the insecurities you may have about yourself, and any worries you have. Unload it all, so it doesn’t have to weigh as heavy on your mind.

5.     Ask Yourself These Important Questions

Detoxing your mind can involve asking yourself questions that can shed light on important areas in your life. Now is the time to take inventory of where you are in life and what you want to focus on and release. Ask yourself:

-       What’s working in my life, and what’s not?

-       What could be improved?

-       Are there any relationships in my life that are not offering me value or joy?

-       What is one bad habit that I feel ready to break?

As you answer these questions, be honest with yourself and consider any roadblocks that are keeping you from being where you want to be.

6.     Let Go

Let go of what is not serving you. What are you ready to release from your life in order to create space for something new? This could be a job, relationship, type of food, emotion, responsibility, limiting belief, time commitment, or otherwise. Write down as many things as you can think of that are standing in between you and your success and happiness. Then, commit to let it go.

7.     Stop The Comparisons

Are you convinced you should be as slim as your best friend, as rich as your sister, or being promoted as quickly as your coworker? Stop it! Stop the comparisons right now. An essential part of detoxing your mind begins with letting go of constantly comparing yourself to others. Try to start doing this for just one day, and you'll be amazed how it transforms your energy and mindset.
